| the boy first met his best friend when he was in kindergarten. at first he didn't like him. he played rough and was a dirty kid. as they spent more time together, the boy and his friend became so close. they played during the day after school in the park and had sleepovers all the time. over the weekends they would race down the neighborhood together and chase cats and squirrels. on halloweens they would steal candy from stupid little kids and run away from the parents. whenever he was sad or mad, he could always count on his best friend to be there for him. when his friend was scared or stressedout, he had the boy to turn to.
as they both got older they were still great friends. the boy's best friend started to get very old. he could no longer run through the playgrounds or jump up to catch frisbees. he began to sleep more as his hair turned white.. the boy became more and more worried for his friend as he had trouble accepting the fact that there wasn't much time left for them.
one day, the boy got off from work. he had a long day an he wanted to spend some time with his best buddy. he went to the yard to where his friend would always greet him with a warm lick and a wagging tail, and but instead, the friend was lying on the ground. the boy slowly walked over to his best friend for the past 12 years and tried to wake him up. but he couldn't. his worst fear came alive as he wondered how he could live life normally without his buddy. the boy did the last thing he could for his friend, by carrying him to his car and driving him to a burial site, to let his friend rest at peace forever. the boy wil always remember his friend, because he showed him true friendship. |
